The
24-year-old scored 24 goals in 33 games for the Canaries in 2021/22, making him
the top goalscorer in the division.
Stephens
had re-joined another Southern Premier Division Central outfit, Stratford Town,
in July 2021 before deciding to switch to rivals Barwell a month later.
He
had returned to National League North side Kettering Town in October 2020 from
Macclesfield Town, where he had been since the summer of 2018.
Capable
of playing in a front two or equally at home in an advanced central midfield
role, he made 45 appearances in League Two for the sadly now defunct Silkmen,
contributing 13 goals.
He
arrived at the Moss Rose after a breakthrough season at Stratford in 2017/18
when he scored 25 goals and provided the assist for a further 12 in 42 starts.
This
led him to not only claim the managers`, players` and supporters` player of the
year awards, but also capture much attention from higher up the football
pyramid.
He
enjoyed subsequent trials at Ipswich Town and Birmingham City, before joining
the Silkmen on a two-year deal.
A
graduate of Jamie Vardy's V9 Academy, before which he played for Oadby Town and
Kettering, he is a clever player with good vision, ball control and a very
clean strike from either foot.
