The 23-year-old pacey winger enjoyed two seasons with Championship neighbours Coventry City.

He joins Stratford from league rivals Tamworth, having signed for the Lambs at the start of the 2020/21 season, although his appearances were cut short due to the pandemic.

He possesses lightning pace and first signed for the Lambs from Romulus in August 2017, having been part of their scholarship programme.

He played the majority of his games for the Lambs in the club’s under-19 and under-21 sides and was on the fringes of the Tamworth first team, making 5 appearances.

However, a string of impressive pre-season performances caught the attention of Coventry, who signed him on a two-year contract in August 2018.

He was a regular in City’s under-23 side and made his debut in an EFL Trophy game against Forest Green Rovers.

He spent a period on loan at Vanarama National League North outfit Leamington where he made 14 appearances and then Coventry released him at the end of his contract.

Chairman Jed McCrory told his club’s website: “Dex was a player I really wanted at this club. I’ve seen him play many times and he’s a superb footballer, a real joy to watch. I’m sure our fans will love him for his energy, enthusiasm, and style of play.”

And the club are delighted to have placed young defender Josh Kilbride on senior forms.

Kilbride, who followed the Bards home and away as a supporter for many years, has just completed his first year with the Stratford Town academy and he made his first team debut last Tuesday against League One opponents Cheltenham Town.

The club have rewarded him for his hard work and ambition to play for Stratford Town by signing him on Southern League forms for the new season.

Academy manager Jon Hill said: “This is exactly what we want for our academy scholars. Josh is a local lad who clearly loves the club and through hard work, training and ability has now got the opportunity to represent and play for Stratford Town. I think it’s fantastic that it shows our pathway through academy football is working”.
