Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division club Marske United have signed young defender Joey Hope.

The 20-year-old left-back joins the NPL Division One East play-off winners from Vanarama National League North side Darlington.

He had joined the Quakers in May 2021 after being released by SkyBet League Two Grimsby Town in March 2021.

He signed for Grimsby after playing youth football on Teesside and after a year in their academy, signed his first professional contract in the summer of 2020.

He made his made his senior debut for Grimsby in their EFL Trophy win against Harrogate Town before joining Cleethorpes Town on a month’s loan, making 3 appearances for the NPL Division One East side.
