Heed Get Pye for the Season

Vanarama National League club Gateshead have announced the signing of centre-back Ethan Pye on a season-long loan from SkyBet League Two returnees Stockport County.

The 18-year-old joins the Heed having just signed a one-year extension to his contract at Edgeley Park.

He began his career at Rochdale, where he was part of the development squad that won the Youth Alliance Cup, with Pye scoring in the final.

Since joining Stockport, the youngster has appeared twice in the first team so far and came off the bench in an FA Cup away tie against Bolton Wanderers in the First Round.

He also spent three months on loan with Gateshead’s former National League North rivals Spennymoor Town last season.
