The
18-year-old is a 6’1” first-year centre-forward who is a powerful runner and
always a threat in behind opposition defences.
He
joined League Two Shrewsbury Town’s academy at under-16 level.
He
started his career as a goalkeeper but changed to a forward midway through his
childhood.
He
has impressed in pre-season for Diamonds, with goals against Stamford AFC and
Cogenhoe United to date.
Diamonds
manager Andy Burgess told his club’s website: “Jenson has been with us since
the start of preseason after his release from Shrewsbury and we’ve been so
pleased with what we’ve seen from him and are delighted he’s put pen-to-paper
with us.
“When
we did work on him during the close season, we were extremely excited not only
by his goalscoring abilities, but his movement, pace and power and
effectiveness at the top end of the pitch. Looking at him, it’s easy to think
he’s a lot older than he is but having only just turned 18 he is someone we are
looking forward to working with and developing within the club and allowing him
the platform in senior football. He’s a natural goalscorer and those are very
hard to come by”.
