The 20-year-old right-back made a good impression as a triallist in the win over York City and was keen to put pen-to-paper on a contract with the Lions.

Halifax-born Vaughan started his career as a youngster at Huddersfield Town.

He then joined Norwich City and played for their under-18s and under-23s.

He left Carrow Road to join Burnley in January 2022 and then had a short spell on loan at Farsley Celtic at the back end of last season.

Vaughan, whose brother Rohan is a scholar at Burnley, is qualified to play for Wales under-19s through his grandfather.
