Defender
Oliver Lobley has joined the Nailers after being released by Vanarama National
League new boys Scunthorpe United.
The
18-year-old joined the Iron at under-15 level.
In
May 2022, he made his Football League debut for Scunthorpe, scoring an own goal
in a controversial 7–0 loss against Bristol Rovers.
Lobley
was one of four second-year scholars to be released by the club following their
relegation from League Two.
Joining
Belper on a more permanent basis is striker Jack Gibson.
The
6`4” Gibson (pictured) spent time on loan with the Nailers last season, as well as with NPL
Division One East outfit Frickley Athletic, from NPL Premier Division outfit
Gainsborough Trinity.
He
had joined Trinity in May 2021 from NPL Division One South East side Carlton
Town.
Working
his way up through the youth ranks at Vanarama National League North side Chester,
he made several appearances in the FA Youth Cup, prior to making the step up to
men’s football in the form of Carlton in 2020/21. |
