After
impressing in a number of pre-season games this summer and grabbing an
equaliser in the last friendly against Bradford Town, Davis-Wilson (pictured) was added to
the Somerset side’s squad for the start of the season.
The
26-year-old had been at Southern Premier Division South side Dorchester Town
since October 2020.
He
started his career at League One Bristol Rovers` academy before spells at clubs
including Frome and Yate Town as well as in Sweden with FK Tonsberg and Torsby
IF.
Manager
Danny Greaves told his club’s website: "I am pleased to welcome Laurent
into our group. He had a short spell with us during our relegation season, and
I have worked with him at Bradford after his short spell in Sweden following
his release from Bristol Rovers.
“He
is a big and strong athletic centre forward and has impressed in the past two
weeks. He further strengthens our attacking options which is crucial in any
team looking to challenge at the top end of any division."
Frome
also announced the signing of midfielder Ben Starr, also following a successful
trial and impressing in a number of pre-season games this summer, catching the
eye of supporters.
The
23-year-old joins from Southern Premier Division South side Salisbury, where he
had been since August 2021.
He
was with Wessex League One side Downton in 2020/21 and moved to the Robins from
then-Toolstation Western League, now Hellenic League Premier Division outfit
Calne Town.
He
signed for Calne in July 2109 having previously played for Corsham Town and
Oldland Abbotonians.
Greaves
added: "Ben has impressed throughout pre-season after coming highly
recommended by ex-Totton manager Dan Stackman who was his football manager at
Portsmouth University. He is versatile, quick and technically decent which
suits our style of play. He has moved back to the area and after his impressive
performance we are delighted he has decided to sign".
