The 24-year-old, a pacey, direct forward, came through the academy at Sheffield United and in 2017 signed for then-Vanarama National League club Chester FC, with loan spells at NPL sides Mickleover Sports and Matlock as well as at Worksop Town, Harrogate Town and Goole AFC.

He joined Isthmian League North side Maldon & Tiptree and scored some important goals in the promotion chase in 2018/19.

He became a third player to leave the Jammers for National League side Wealdstone in late September 2020.

After a stop-start season with the Stones, he departed Grosvenor Vale in the summer of 2021, making the short trip to National League South side Hampton & Richmond Borough.

After scoring 6 league goals in the first half of the season, he moved to AFC Fylde on a short-term loan in January 2022, to be closer to his young family in the north.

Matlock manager Paul Phillips told https://www.matlocktownfc.co.uk: “Hopefully he’s the lad we’ve been looking for, what we’d been missing in the last three to four months of last season. He’s got pace, can score goals and if he or anyone else can score 20 to 25 goals this season, we’ve got a chance!

“The problem’s been not putting the ball in the net - the chances were there. Jez Uchegbulam did quite well in getting behind the opposing defence but we’re hoping that Jerome can find the net on a regular basis”.
