The 21-year-old had joined the then-Vanarama National League North Lions in January 2021 for an undisclosed fee from NPL Division One East side Tadcaster Albion.

He had been with Taddy since June 2020 after being released by League One side Tranmere Rovers where he was a regular member of the senior squad, although mostly on the bench in 2019/20.

He has already had his fair share of Lancashire clubs in the various junior age groups having represented Bury and Accrington Stanley before turning out for Blackburn Rovers` under-15’s.

At the age of 16, he joined Everton’s academy but quickly moved on a two-year scholarship to Tranmere where he played for the under-18s.

He also had a loan spell with North West Counties League side Cammell Laird 1907.

Manager Brad Cooke told http://athertoncollieries.co.uk: “Bailey had actually agreed to join us on loan last November, but he unfortunately picked up an injury with the first kick of his first training session.

“We’ve been nursing him back to fitness over pre-season, but he is a top player, we hope to be seeing the best of him again come the first half of next year!”
