The
Brakes had Dan Turner limp off at Southport last Saturday with a suspected
ankle problem, leaving them without a recognised striker, and Hewlett, who
spent some time with Leamington during pre-season, fitted the bill.
The
20-year-old has been at Burton since 2018 when he joined as a scholar; signing
his first professional contract two years later and making his first team debut
in September 2020 in an EFL Trophy tie against Peterborough United.
Having
battled back from a serious injury, he spent time on loan at Redditch United
towards the end of last season and signed a new contract at Burton in the
summer.
He
spent the first month of this season in with Belper Town, scoring in their
opening game of the season.
