The experienced former Northern Ireland under-21 international midfielder James McQuilkin has returned to the Pitmen for a third spell.

The 33-year-old began his career as a schoolboy with West Bromwich Albion but was released in 2007 after 6 years with the club.

He signed for Tescoma Zlin, in the Czech Republic, however after a season in their B team and a handful of senior appearances, he returned to the UK and joined Hereford United.

After four seasons at Edgar Street he left and signed for Walsall, earning a one-year deal in July 2013.

After leaving the Saddlers, he had a short spell with Hednesford before switching south to Torquay United, leaving in April 2015.

A brief spell at AFC Telford United saw him move on to Hednesford again, from where he joined Kidderminster Harriers.

A summer move in June 2018 saw him re-join National League North club Telford for a second time before he re-joined Hereford in October 2020.

He switched to Stourbridge in June 2021 and having departed the Glassboys at the end of last season, he spent time with the Pitmen during the summer. However, a deal wasn’t reached then.

Striker Ryan Nesbitt (pictured) has also re-joined the Pitmen from league rivals Redditch United.

The 23-year-old had been at the Trico Stadium since June 2022.

He had re-joined rivals Alvechurch in January 2022 from Bedworth United having been with the Greenbacks since late November 2021 after arriving from Sutton Coldfield Town, who he had only joined a couple of weeks earlier from another Northern Premier Division One Midlands rival, Loughborough Dynamo, where he had been since June 2021.

He was signed by National League club Solihull Moors in February 2019 from Sutton Coldfield and was immediately loaned back to the Royals for the remainder of the 2018/19 season.

He has previous experience with Hednesford, Boldmere St Michaels and Chasetown where he also scored a hatful of goals.
