The
former FC United of Manchester and Ashton United player joins LR having been
manager at AFC Monton last season winning the Murray Trophy in the Manchester
League.
He
is joined alongside his two brothers Jamie and Mark who will form his
management team providing a large knowledge base and experience of the
non-league scene.
The
club conducted interviews in the past week after receiving many applications
and a decision was made by the club committee on Friday.
Chairman
Shaun Lynch told the club’s website: “When Nick stepped down and the news broke
about us needing a new manager, I was inundated with applicants. I wanted to
get someone in asap to galvanise the lads already signed on and obviously sign
more players to get us out of the bottom three.
"We
did 7 face-to-face interviews, all quality people who I would give the job to.
Chris and his team got the job through us loving his passion, ideas, network of
players and I’d already had managers in higher leagues who have worked with
Chris and know him highly recommending him and his brothers. I can’t wait to
see what happens from here on in, I’ve got a feeling we’re in for good times”.
