The 26-year-old had originally been with the Stones since December 2020 having been a free agent after leaving Port Vale in August 2020 and then switched to rivals Sutton United in January 2021 before re-joining the Stones in June 2021.

He started his career in the academy at Norwich City, joining at the age of 15.

He was part of the squad which won the FA Youth Cup and Norfolk Senior Cup in 2013.

He was released by the Canaries at the end of the 2013/14 season and joined Charlton Athletic and remained with the Valiants until May 2015.

Whilst on Charlton`s books, he was loaned to Isthmian Leaguers VCD Athletic. In June 2015, he made his international debut for Antigua & Barbuda as a substitute against St Lucia and his first start came in the return leg which Antigua won 4-1.

He scored his first and only international goal in March 2018 in a 3-2 friendly win over Bermuda and to date, he has 10 caps.

After a successful trial, he signed for National League side Aldershot Town at the beginning of August 2015.

Then in June 2016, he joined Grimsby Town for an undisclosed fee after scoring 6 goals in 37 National League games in 2015/16.

He was loaned in January 2017 to Macclesfield Town until the end of the 2016/17 season and helped them reach the final of the FA Trophy, scoring at Wembley in the defeat to York City.

In total he played 24 games for Macclesfield, scoring 6 goals.

In June 2017, he signed a two-year contract with Yeovil Town for an undisclosed fee - his father Steve also played at Huish Park for Yeovil in the 1990s.

Yeovil were relegated to the National League in April 2019 and Browne was one of nine players released by the Glovers at the end of the season.

He had made 72 appearances for Yeovil, scoring 7 goals.

In July 2019, he joined Port Vale, initially on trial, before signing a one-year deal. He made 11 appearances for Vale without troubling the scorers.

Woking boss Darren Sarll told https://www.wokingfc.co.uk: "Rhys is a much-awaited addition to the squad. We have spoken openly about the need to recruit when is right, and after the way Rhys started the season, he came to the attention of a lot of clubs.

"We felt the time was right to make this transfer possible, Rhys has many attacking, creative and athletic qualities that will suit our style of play. He has chosen Woking over potentially bigger and more established football clubs.

"We are delighted to have him and to be backed by the owners, and we must say that Wealdstone conducted themselves in the most professional of fashions”.
