The 31-year-old arrives at Park View Road with a wealth of League and international experience, having racked up 150 appearances during his time in League football, while representing his country on 21 occasions, scoring 3 goals.

Baghdad-born, Kasim spent time as a youth with Tottenham Hotspur’s under-18s before joining Brighton & Hove Albion in 2010.

Having made one League appearance with the Seagulls, he enjoyed loan spells at Luton Town and Macclesfield Town before joining Swindon Town permanently in 2013.

He spent four seasons in League One at the County Ground, netting 8 goals in 139 appearances for the Robins, including a start at Wembley in their 2015 League One play-off final defeat to Preston North End.

A move to Northampton Town followed in 2017, before leaving for the Swedish top-flight with Örebro SK in January 2019 prior to a move back to Iraq with Erbil and then Zakho before returning to England this summer.
