The 29-year-old joined Boro having stepped down as player-manager of Wessex League Premier Division side Portland United earlier in the month. He took over as joint-manager of Portland in October 2020. He had re-joined Southern Premier Division South side Dorchester Town for a third spell in early November 2019 having become an instant fans favourite by scoring a stoppage time equaliser on his debut in the Boxing Day derby away at Weymouth in 2015. He returned from league rivals Wimborne Town, who he joined in October 2018. He left local rivals Poole Town to re-join Wimborne after his contract was cancelled. Having signed on a free transfer from Blackfield & Langley during the summer of 2018, he had limited opportunities for the Dolphins. The playmaker had hit the headlines during his first spell at Dorchester, leading to a step up to the professional game for York City, for whom he made a couple of appearances. He returned to the area to sign for Salisbury in 2017 and then joined Poole just under a year later.
