The 26-year-old joined Altrincham in the 2020 close season from Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division side Nantwich Town.
A product of the Crewe Alexandra youth system, he subsequently joined Nantwich after a year with Leek Town.
Having been an unused sub for the first 5 matches of 2019/20, he came on as a sub in game 6 and then joined the starting XI in the next game.
After another spell on the bench, he held his place until a broken ankle bone sidelined him in late October 2020.
Mullarkey leaves Altrincham having made 111 starts and 21 more appearances from the bench. He netted 10 goals.
This season he had made 25 starts and scored 4 times.
