The 31-year-old re-joined Gosport in May 2019 from Vanarama National League South neighbours Havant & Waterlooville. He enjoyed two spells with the Hawks and has amassed in excess of 200 appearances during that time. After leaving the Portsmouth academy he was quickly snapped up by then-Havant manager Shaun Gale in 2009 and enjoyed a rollercoaster ride during his first spell at the club. He saw two First Round FA Cup appearances, dicing with relegation and then helped the club into the Conference South play-offs, dramatic FA Trophy runs, including a semi-final back in 2014. He left the club in 2015 to join Gosport but returned a season later and enjoyed the most success laden spell of his career. He helped the Hawks to the Isthmian Premier crown in 2017 before a year later helping the club to success in winning the National League South. Director of football Mark Molesley told his club’s website: “Ryan has been a great servant to the club, and at this stage of his career he is struggling to keep up with the demands of this league, so we thank Ryan for all of his efforts and wish him well. “I would like to personally thank him for being a model professional footballer since I have been here, he has been great to deal with and its only right that after Ryan has been such a good servant for the club, that we respect his wishes and his personal lifestyle, that suits slightly more local football. “Ryan is obviously going to a club who are in a title race, so we wish him all the best and thank him for his efforts”.
