Defender or midfielder Kevan Cotter (pictured) has returned to Top Field from Isthmian League Premier Division side Wingate & Finchley. He had moved to Summers Lane late in the 2019/20 season and totalled 54 games and 7 goals during his time there. The now 23-year-old played for Arsenal and Queens Park Rangers at youth level before signing for Luton Town at under-13 level and made his first-team debut in a 2–1 victory away to Gillingham in an EFL Trophy group stage match in August 2016. Cotter signed a professional contract with Luton in May 2017 and the following August he made the first of what was to turn out to be four separate loan spells with Hitchin, making 28 appearances in all. He also spent time on loan at Vanarama National League South side Oxford City at the end of the 2017/18 season. He left Kenilworth Road at the end of the 2017/18 season and joined National League South side Hemel Hempstead Town at the start of the following season and was a key aspect of the side. He made over 30 appearances in all competitions for Hemel and had a brief loan spell with Kings Langley in August 2018. He switched to then-league rivals Wealdstone in May 2019 before joining Wingate. Also moving into Top Field is young central defender Charlie Miller. The 20-year-old joins from Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division side Tring Athletic, for whom he had made 35 appearances and scored 7 goals this season. The Aussie, who hails from the Gold Coast, turned down both Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion to sign a two-year scholarship deal with Plymouth Argyle, although his scholarship was delayed due to red tape surrounding his international clearance. After being released by Argyle at the end of the 2020/21 season, he signed for Hitchin’s league rivals Kings Langley in July 2001, moving onto Tring in January 2002.
