Smith Returns to Gingerbreads
Pitching In Northern Premier League Division One East club Grantham Town have re-signed big forward Gregg Smith on loan from Southern League Premier Division Central side Basford United until the end of the season.

The experienced 33-year-old returns to the Gingerbreads in a loan deal that sees Jonathan Wafula join Basford on similar terms. Smith signed for Basford in June 2022 having returned to Grantham’s league rivals Spalding United in May 2021. He had returned to the NPL with Gainsborough Trinity just before Christmas 2019 after a spell with then-Midland League side Newark Flowserve. He had moved to Newark from Grantham in October 2019, having re-joined the Gingerbreads in June 2019 following a second spell with Stamford AFC. He had returned to the Daniels in February 2019 from Tamworth, having previously with the Daniels in 2015/16 before leaving for Boston United. He has also played for King`s Lynn, Tamworth and Brackley Town. He was originally with Grantham in 2014 before he moved to King`s Lynn and he made 89 appearances for the Gingerbreads, bagging 32 goals.
