Redditch Bolster Squad Ahead of the Run-In to the end of the Season
Pitching In Southern League Premier Division Central club Redditch United have bolstered their squad for the run-in.

Returning to the Trico Stadium is defender Josh Ezewele (pictured) from Northern Premier League Division One Midlands side Halesowen Town. The 26-year-old had been with the Yeltz since February 2022 after arriving from Redditch’s league rivals Alvechurch. He had re-signed for `Church in June 2021 from league rivals Bromsgrove Sporting having joined the Rouslers in July 2020 from Stourbridge having arrived at the Glassboys in October 2019 from Alvechurch. He is a product of the West Bromwich Albion youth and academy system where he played for the under-18 and under-21 sides. In July 2016 he signed a one-year contract with then-League Two side Yeovil Town but featured only once for the senior side in a Checkatrade Trophy match against Reading under-23's in November 2016. He joined Vanarama National League North outfit Kidderminster Harriers on a month's loan in January 2017 and at the end of the loan spell in February the move was made permanent. In June 2017 he agreed a deal with then-National Leaguers AFC Fylde. However, with his opportunities limited as the season wore on, he subsequently joined Redditch on a month's loan in February 2018. He was released by the Coasters at the end of the 2017/18 season and he then signed for Alvechurch in the summer of 2018. Ezewele’s former Halesowen team-mate, the experienced midfielder Tom Turton, has also joined the Reds. The 29-year-old had been with the Yeltz since June 2022. He had re-joined Redditch’s league rivals Alvechurch in October 2020 from Midland League Premier Division side Worcester City, who he had joined in the summer from Church`s league rivals Stourbridge. He had returned to the Glassboys for a second stint in the summer of 2019, making the switch from Alvechurch following the appointment of Ian Long. He had originally linked up with Stourbridge ahead of the 2012/13 season following his release from West Bromwich Albion. He joined Romulus on dual registration in March 2013 and subsequently remained with them for the following season. He signed for Sutton Coldfield Town in August 2014 and spent two seasons with the Royals before having his first spell with Alvechurch in May 2016 where he enjoyed three productive years. A fine 2018/19 campaign saw him win the managers` player of the year award in May before heading back to the War Memorial Athletic Ground. Goalkeeper Ben Newey has joined Redditch on dual registration with Midland League Premier Division side Lye Town. The 23-year-old started his career at Championship side Birmingham City, and also spent time with League One Burton Albion prior to travelling out to America to gain further experience with Illinois Central College. He had a spell as number two at Leamington and also signed dual forms with Rushall Olympic before a loan spell with Lye. He returned to Lye Town in September 2021 after a spell with United Counties League Premier Division South side Rugby Town. Another penning dual terms is forward Joe Billingham from Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division side Worcester Raiders. The 23-year-old has made 34 appearances for Raiders this season and scored 10 goals. He was previously with Malvern Town from August 2020 after joining from Stourport Swifts.
