Ross McNeilly has been relieved of his temporary duties as interim boss and will return to his former role of academy manager. Widdrington recently resigned from his managerial role at King’s Lynn Town, leaving them second in the National League North. The 51-year-old enjoyed a long playing career in the Football League with an abundance of Premier League appearances with Southampton. In his non-playing career, he spent five years as manager of Eastbourne Borough and before joining King’s Lynn in December 2021, had a number of roles at Bristol Rovers during a three-year spell. Club chairman Shahid Azeem told https://www.theshots.co.uk: “Firstly, thanks to Ross for all of his huge effort and hard work since stepping up from academy manager back in October.” “With just six games left, we felt we needed to make a change and when notified of Tommy’s resignation, wanted to act quickly to secure the man that we believe can help us with the final push towards mathematical safety”.
