Lymington Fail Ground Grading
Lymington Fail Ground Grading
Lymington Town, who fought hard to avoid relegation from the Pitching In Southern League Division One South and eventually succeeded on the final day of the season by finishing 16th, have now been informed by the Football Association that they have failed their ground grading for Step 4.

Apparently the major reason for this was that Lymington had not built a new `standing only stand` for 100 spectators. The club had submitted plans to the New Forest District Council and are awaiting the requisite permission. The club’s landlords, Lymington & Pennington Town Council, had asked to refrain from commencing the construction work until the end of the season, as it would clash with other works at The Sports Ground that had been scheduled prior to submitting the plans. This we understood and the council provided a letter from them to show to the FA in the hope of giving the club time to complete the work before the start of next season. However, the FA did not take this into account. Lymington are now looking to appeal against the FA’s decision.
