The 32-year-old striker has joined the club ahead of our Southern League Division One East campaign.

Sandy (pictured) began his career in the youth set-up at Northampton Town prior to playing for Brackley Town between 2006 and 2014, during which he also spent time on loan with ourselves, Leamington and Kettering Town and a short spell with Oxford City.

He then played for Dunstable Town and Kettering on a permanent basis, playing a key part in the Poppies Southern League Division One Central Championship winning side of season 2014/15.

Sandy has since played for AFC Rushden & Diamonds, Stamford AFC and Newport Pagnell Town before returning to Stamford for a second spell.

In the 2016/17 season, Sandy was an integral part of the Daniels best ever FA Cup run, helping the side to the First Round where they were beaten by Hartlepool United.

In the same season he then helped Newport Pagnell through to the Buildbase FA Vase Quarter-Final - the best run the club has had in the competition, but sadly their dreams were ended by eventual winners South Shields.

He was most recently at Banbury United.

Sandy follows the return of Miles Smith after a seven-month absence and the arrival of Jordan Francis.

Smith makes his return to Steel Park after a short spell at St Ives Town last season.

He needs no introduction to the Steelmen fans. Miles was seen by many as a big loss when he left Corby last September, and he picked up the player of the year award for the 2017/2018 season at St Ives Town.

Winger Francis was a youth team player for West Bromwich Albion, playing for the youth sides and then featuring for the under 21 and under 23 sides.

Most recently, Francis played for Romulus, receiving many plaudits over the last two years, despite playing for a side battling relegation.
