A much-travelled forward, the 35-year-old is in his second managerial role, after originally working as a first-team coach for Ashton Athletic and as manager for Skelmersdale United. Capped twice for England C, Brodie had two successful spells with York City, making a combined 152 appearances. He began his time with City in 2007 and played for the Minstermen until 2010, making 135 appearances and scoring 53 goals in that time. He also helped the Minstermen reach the FA Trophy final, before finishing as runners-up after falling to a 2-0 defeat to Stevenage in 2009. He was part of the York squad that were relegated to the Vanarama National League North, also playing for Boston United and Macclesfield Town in the same season.
