Williamson Returns to Tyneside With Gateshead
Vanarama National League club Gateshead have brought experienced defender Mike Williamson back to Tyneside.

The 34-year-old, 6`4” centre-back spent five years and made 150 appearances for Newcastle United, earning a Championship winners` medal with the Toon before playing in the Premier League.

 

Mike Williamson 33, 6ft 4 centre-back has joined up with Oxford United in time to fly out to Portugal.

 

Ahead of moving to St James`s Park, Williamson played for Torquay United, Portsmouth, Watford, Wycombe, Doncaster and Southampton.

 

Since leaving Newcastle he has been with Wolverhampton Wanderers and Oxford United and has played in nearly 400 League matches.

 

He left Oxford after failing to appear in the first-team since January.
