Strain was assistant-manager to John Brough at North Leigh last season and before that he spent sixteen years coaching at Cheltenham Town`s academy.
Commenting on his appointment, Strain told http://www.slimbridgeafc.co.uk: "I am really looking forward to the challenge that lies ahead of us here at Thornhill Park.
“From what I have seen so far we have an excellent set up and the people involved here have been very welcoming.”
Slimbridge chairman Barry Gay said: “I am absolutely delighted that Dave has agreed to join. After a long search to find Lee Driver-Dickerson an assistant I feel that we have found the right person in Dave, who has an excellent pedigree and I am really looking forward to working with him.”
The Swans have also recently added Nick Pulman to their squad from Vanarama National League South side Bath City.
The young central defender spent time on loan with Toolstation Western League Premier Division side Bitton AFC last season.
Young Evesham United forward Ewen Dunbar has also signed ahead of the new campaign.
Dunbar joined Evesham three years ago, impressing for the under-18s and under-23s, scoring on his first-team debut.
Driver-Dickerson has also signed former Bishop's Cleeve man Joe Noakes. |
