Attacking winger George Cater has joined the Yeltz having completed last season with the 2022/23 Premier Division Central champions Tamworth. The 25-year-old signed for the Lambs in May 2022 from then-Southern Premier Division Central rivals Hednesford Town, where he had been since June 2020. Cannock-born, he originally came through the ranks at Championship outfit West Bromwich Albion before joining Kidderminster Harriers in 2015. In January 2016, he moved to Stafford Rangers after a successful loan spell at Marston Road when he scored 3 goals in 9 appearances. He was in his second spell with the Pitmen as he previously signed in March 2017 but was only at Keys Park for a short period before moving to Northern Premier League Division One Midlands neighbours Chasetown where he impressed, scoring 15 goals in 2019/20 before Covid-19 brought it to a premature end. Smith told his club’s website: ''George won the league last year with Tamworth. “He had a somewhat stop start season with injuries, but he is 100% fit now and is a very exciting addition''.
