However, the obvious place to begin this round-up is at Croft Park where Blyth Spartans recorded their first win and relegated Chester FC`s first defeat.

But it was the final 8-1 scoreline which caught the eye!

It was Chester`s worst defeat since 2000 when they went down 7-1 to now Premier League Brighton & Hove Albion in the Football League and Spartans went one better on Saturday.

New joint bosses Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley, who enjoyed such great success with Salford City, watched in amazement as a Dan Maguire brace and goals from Jamie Holmes, Kieran Green, Sean Reid, a Steve Howson own goal, Adam Wrightson and Nathan Buddle gave the home side an amazing win - Gary Stopforth netting a consolation for Chester whose day got even worse after a straight red card for Gary Roberts midway through the second half after he was adjudged to have gone in over the top on Holmes.

Chorley sit top of the early table thanks to a 1-0 win at Nuneaton Borough with a Marcus Carver goal a minute before the break proving decisive.

Still to taste defeat in 2018/19 are Leamington, promoted Hereford FC and Altrincham, AFC Telford United, Kidderminster Harriers and Spennymoor Town.

Leamington inflicted a first defeat on Bradford Park Avenue, winning 4-2 at The Phillips 66 Community Stadium with goals from Matt Stenson with another brace, Callum Gittings and sub Anthony Dwyer, with Shane Killock and Oli Johnson replying.

Hereford won 1-0 at the Tameside Stadium against Curzon Ashton, courtesy of a 79th minute Harry White effort, while Altrincham and Spennymoor shared a 4-4 draw at the Brewery Field.

Mark Anderson gave the home side an 11th minute lead that Andy White on 21 minutes and Jamie Jones 11 minutes later turned around.

Adam Boyes gave Moors parity 5 minutes before the break, only for Josh Hancock to make it 3-2 just 3 minutes into the second period.

Shane Henry levelled on 68 minutes, but the hosts fell behind once more with a second for Hancock on 77 minutes.

Glen Taylor earned the hosts a point 6 minutes from time.

AFC Telford shared a 1-1 draw at Nethermoor Park against relegated Guiseley AFC – their first point to date.

And it was almost a third defeat as the Bucks led through Andre Brown`s 76th minute effort until time added on at the end when Curtis Morrison grabbed the Lions a share of the spoils.

Like Spennymoor, Kidderminster have now drawn their three games after it finished 3-3 at Aggborough against promoted Ashton United.

The visitors got off to a terrific start as Matty Chadwick after 3 minutes and Matt Regan 3 minutes later put them two-up.

Joel Taylor pulled one back 5 minutes after half-time, but it didn`t look good for Harriers when then had Dan Bradley sent-off for an off the ball incident just past the hour-mark.

And then Nic Evangelinos made it 3-1 to Ashton in the 73rd minute.

But Harriers staged a great comeback with ten-men, as Ashley Chambers 4 minutes later and then Kane Richards in stoppage time nicked a point.

It`s three out of three for Southport and FC United of Manchester. But sadly for their fans, it`s three successive defeats!

Connor Dimaio's late 85th minute goal proved the difference for Stockport County at the Merseyrail Community Stadium against Southport, despite a good battling performance from the home side after playing a large part with ten men after losing Billy Priestley to a straight red card on 33 minutes for bringing down Frank Mulhearn when clear on goal.

FC United suffered a 3-0 Broadhurst Park defeat to Boston United – meaning they have conceded 12 goals in three games.

Brad Abbott after 23 minutes, Andre Johnson 13 minutes from time and then Abbott again on 85 minutes were the Pilgrims on the mark.

Alfreton Town`s first win was York City`s second defeat as the Reds won 2-1 at Bootham Crescent, thanks to two goals in 2 minutes from Tom Denton and Curtis Bateson inside the opening 14 minutes – Macauley Langstaff replying on 68 minutes.

And Darlington`s first win was also Brackley Town`s second defeat as Reece Styche netted a hat-trick for the Quakers in a 4-2 success at St James`s Park.

Styche`s opener after 2 minutes was wiped out within 4 minutes through James Armson, but the visitors led 4-1 at the break as Styche completed his triple and Simon Ainge add the other, with Lee Ndlovu replying 3 minutes into the second half.
