| The 35-year-old joins the Owls having spent last season in the Vanarama National League North with Darlington, having moved north in the summer of 2022.
Rose had joined the Quakers on a more permanent basis from SkyBet League Two side Grimsby Town.
He spent part of the 2021/22 season on loan with the Quakers, making 25 appearances.
He started his career at Manchester United and captained United’s reserve team but didn’t make a first team appearance.
When he left United, he went on to play for Oxford United, Newport County, Fleetwood Town, Aldershot Town, Northampton Town, Portsmouth, Swindon Town and Grimsby. He won titles with Newport (Conference South, 2010), Fleetwood (Conference, 2012) and Portsmouth (League Two, 2017).
He signed for Grimsby in the summer of 2020.
He has one England C international cap, skippering the team in a 1–1 draw with Italy at Fleetwood’s Highbury Stadium in February 2012.
