Manager Phil Parkinson, manager of Vanarama National League club Altrincham, reckons he has solved the problem right-back position by signing Lewis Banks and he has also added the experienced Dior Angus to his group.

Banks is a 26-year-old tough-tackling full-back fresh from a rescue mission with Arbroath, where he was brought in to help stave off the threat of relegation and played a key role in keeping the team in the Scottish Championship after they fought out a 0-0 draw with Hamilton Academical on the final day. Banks can also operate on the left of a back four and is noted for his defensive reliability and committed approach. Potteries-born, he captained his home club's under-21s and under-23s and was named under-23 player of the year at the age of 21 After a season at Stafford Rangers, he embarked on a highly-successful spell with Sligo Rovers in the League of Ireland Premier Division, where his 100-plus appearances included a wealth of European experience and a player of the year award in his first season at the club in 2019. He started in both legs of Sligo's 3-0 aggregate win over Motherwell in the Europa Conference League and played in four further ties before Sligo eventually bowed out to Viking Stavanger of Norway. His travels took him to Arbroath, between Dundee and Aberdeen on the east coast of Scotland, in January, but he readily admitted he was glad to be closer to home after linking up with the Robins and preparing for the start of the 2023/24 season. Dior Angus (pictured) joins the Robins from SkyBet League Two side Harrogate Town. The 29-year-old has a proven record as a pacey striker with an eye for goal at Altrincham’s level and above and will give the Robins extra attacking options next season. His time at Harrogate was disrupted by a serious ankle injury. Coventry-born, the 6` striker started out at Solihull Moors and had loan spells with several Midlands non-League clubs before getting his big EFL break with Port Vale in January 2018. Six months later, he was loaned to Nuneaton Borough in the National League North, where, despite the Boro being rooted to the foot of the table, he rattled home 13 goals in 25 appearances. A move followed to Barrow, where a highly-effective partnership with Scott Quigley was instrumental in the Bluebirds being promoted to League Two as National League champions in March 2020. He joined Wrexham on an 18-month contract in February 2021 and was spearheading their push for promotion when the advent of the Hollywood era at the Racecourse signalled an influx of big-name signings that restricted his starting opportunities. Even so, he made enough of an impression to earn himself a transfer to Harrogate for an undisclosed fee, only for a ruptured ankle ligament to stall his progress.
