Willington manager Rob Lee said; “We missed chances in the first half and we went in 1- 0 down. It took a defender to score our first goal then we went on to score twice in the second half.”

Redcar, promoted from the Wearside League, took a half-time lead through Sam Calvert, but Willington broke through early in the second half through Rob Shields. Boosted by the goal, they went on to win through Graham Lazonby and Michael Brown.

Chester-le-Street have now got nine points from three games after beating Esh Winning 3-1.

Andrew Clarkson scored for the third successive game to put them in front, with Cameron Nichol making it 2-0. Jacob McKellar pulled a goal back before Michael Hepplewhite made sure.

Chester-le-Street manager Colin Wake said; “It was a very poor game which we shaded to be honest. We never got out of first gear but did enough to win the game. We need to be better than that if we want to keep our decent start to the season going as it was painful to watch at times, the quality was that poor.”

Crook Town drew 2-2 at Jarrow Roofing, a week after losing 4-1 at home to them.

Jarrow led with a Kris Allen penalty, but Crook hit back through Joe Peel and Phil Caley, which seemed to be enough until Allen converted his second penalty in the last minute.

Crook manager Jamie Tunstall said; “After conceding two penalties you're always disappointed especially when I think they might have been Jarrow's only two shots on target in the game. We've got our noses in front and need to see the game out better, so we're disappointed not to come away with three points.”

Durham City lost their unbeaten record when they were beaten 2-0 at home by Thornaby, who scored both their goals in the second half through Jordan Wilson and Kurtis Howes.

Durham manager Mike Weston said; “I was very frustrated at the events on and off the field. We battled hard in the first 45 minutes, then we dropped our standards which isn't good enough.”

Tow Law Town lost for the second time in a week, when they went down to a last-minute goal at Ryton & Crawcrook Albion.

Scott Jasper put Ryton into the lead just before half-time, but Kai Hewitson cancelled the goal out. However, Jamie Dunn got the winner for Ryton in stoppage time.

Brandon were beaten by a last-minute goal at home to Billingham Town.

They had battled back from going a goal down and equalised through Niall Fingleton, but Reece Kenney scored for Billingham in stoppage time.
