The French-born former Paris Saint-Germain youth (pictured) joins Fleet from league rivals Eastleigh. Standing 6`5”, he is another international, having played 5 times for Mali including in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers. The 32-year-old had joined the Spitfires in June 2022 following his departure from Oldham Athletic. He has a wealth of Football League experience, having featured over 100 times across spells with MK Dons, Gillingham, and Leyton Orient since his arrival in the UK in 2017, making over 100 appearances. He rose through the youth ranks at Paris Saint-Germain and Amiens, beginning his career with the latter, as he has also played for the likes of Dijon and Rayo Vallecano on the continent. Meanwhile, Fleet have snapped up Jack Wakely from SkyBet League One side Wycombe Wanderers on a season-long loan. The 22-year-old centre-back, measures 6`4” in height and arrives with an excellent pedigree having come through the ranks at Chelsea. He was at Stamford Bridge from the age of 9 until turning professional with the Blues aged 17 in 2019. His first taste of senior football came with a loan spell at Basingstoke Town as a teenager and, while part of Chelsea’s development side, he also had a temporary period with Brighton & Hove Albion and Leicester City under-23s. In all, he made 52 appearances for Chelsea’s under-18s and under-23s and was part of the 2017/18 Under-18 Premier League-winning squad. Wycombe Wanderers was the player’s next port of call - his home-town club - when he signed for them permanently in the summer of 2021 on a two-year deal after a successful trial. He made EFL Trophy appearances in his first year and his FA Cup and EFL debuts for the Chairboys came last season. National League experience was also gained in 2022 as he featured in Maidenhead United’s final seven games of that season after joining the Magpies in the March.
