The 30-year-old is an experienced left back who began his career at Arsenal, for whom he signed as an 11-year-old in 2004. After being a regular in the Gunners’ reserve side, he made his first team debut in 2012 as a substitute in a League Cup tie at Reading and, in December, made his first start in the Champions League at Olympiakos. At the end of the season he was released and moved on to Swansea City, where he appeared regularly for the, then Premier League club, but at the end of 2014 he moved into non-League football with then-Spartan South Midlands League side, Hadley, where he got a good run of games and a return of 9 goals as a wing back that earned him a move up the pyramid with St Albans City. This was followed by a spell in Scandinavia where he was an ever-present in Swedish top division side AFC Eskilstuna before moving to neighbouring Norway with Aalesund. In 2020, he returned to National League South with Dartford, where he made 19 appearances before departing for Hemel Hempstead Town and then returning to Princes Park last season where he made a further 13 appearances. He is a Montserrat international, who was in the squad for 2022 World Cup Qualification and has made 4 appearances for his country. Manager Jay Saunders told https://www.tonbridgeangels.co.uk: “I’m delighted to finally get Jernade signed. He’s someone with great experience of this level and has exactly the attributes we were looking for. He will need a couple of games to get up to speed but once he is, he’ll be a great addition to the squad”.
