Late Movement at Hayes & Yeading
Ahead of the opening day of the Bostik League South Central season, Hayes & Yeading United manager Paul Hughes confirmed some more new additions to his squad.

Defender Tom Jelley returns to the United ranks, while goalkeeper Luke Daley has also returned from last season and will be dual registered with Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central side Berkhamsted also, acting as back-up to both sides as and when required.

 

Jelley is an experienced right-sided defender who re-joins Hayes & Yeading having spent the previous campaign with Tonbridge Angels in the Bostik Premier.

 

He played for Merstham, Walton Casuals, Kingstonian and then Tooting & Mitcham United before joining Hampton & Richmond Borough during the 2014/15 season, helping them to promotion the following year which led to him being named in the Isthmian Premier team of the year for 2015/16 as the Beavers were promoted to the National League South.

 

Having not been able to nail down a regular place in the Beavers side the following season he decided to move on and joined Tonbridge last season.

 

Daley is a 24-year-old former Hayes & Yeading under-18 goalkeeper who returns to the club from Ashford Town (Middx) to act as back-up to Jack Smith.

 

He made his United debut early in October 2017, coming on as a half-time substitute for the injured Jack Smith and returns this season as back-up to James Shaw with Jack Smith still injured at the commencement of the campaign.

 

Has also played for Chertsey Town and will this season be dual registered with Berkhamsted to get more game-time during the season.

 

United have also dual registered three players out to Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Premier Division sides to get them game time at the start of the season.

 

Ismael Ehui has joined Southall and made a goalscoring debut against AFC Hayes, while youngsters Jack Roper and Michael O'Neil have joined AFC Hayes.
