Luke Higham, Alex Pope, Matt Makinson, Kyle Sambor and Brad Lynch have all checked into The XLCR Stadium.

Young defender Luke Higham joins from SkyBet League One side Fleetwood Town.

The 21-year-old linked up with the Cod Army’s development squad last summer after spending all of his previous career at Blackpool.

An energetic left-sided player, Higham has enjoyed two loan spells at Nuneaton Borough, AFC Telford United and FC United of Manchester, as well as first-team action for the Seasiders.

Pope is a young defender who was recently released by Vanarama National League side AFC Fylde.

Makinson arrives from NPL Premier Division side Warrington Town.

The 19-year-old centre-back had joined the Wire in March from Blackburn Rovers.

Sambor is also 19 and joins following his release by League Two side Mansfield Town.

A forward who hails from the north-west, he scored 25 goals for Mansfield`s under-21s last season and also had a spell on loan with Retford United, then in the Toolstation Northern Counties East League.

Before joining the Stags, Sambor had spells with Prescot Cables, Vauxhall Motors, Litherland Remyca, City of Liverpool and AFC Liverpool.

Also joining Colne is youngster Brad Lynch, who was released by Blackburn at the end of last season.

A former team-mate of Matt Makinson, Lynch is an attacker who can play anywhere across the front line and had been at Ewood Park for three years, playing mainly for the under-18s.
