Just a few days before the season kicks-off on Saturday, Grant Black's men were hugely boosted in strength and morale with the news that the current player of the year has put pen-to-paper for Belper after initially having made a switch to league rivals Gresley earlier this summer.

Allen had been with Belper since November 2015 and previously played for Burton Albion where he captained the club`s youth team before moving to Mickleover Sports in December 2012.

After brief spell at Station Road, he played briefly for Borrowash Victoria before moving to Eastwood Town in March 2013.

He then signed for Stafford Rangers and Long Eaton United before joining the Nailers for the first time.
