The 25-year-old can play as a winger, attacking midfielder, or forward, and will add some further prowess to Neil Smith’s front line.

Goddard spent eleven years at Reading during his youth, originally joining the Royals at the age of 8 in 2001.

His loyalty was rewarded in 2011, where he signed his first professional contract, featuring heavily in the Berkshire side’s development side in the 2011/12 season.

In the summer of 2012, Goddard signed for then-Conference South side Hayes & Yeading United, where he would spend the entire season, making 37 appearances.

At the end of the season, Goddard left United to sign for then-Conference Premier outfit Woking.

He spent three seasons at Kingfield, making a total of 128 appearances across all competitions, scoring 27 goals.

In 2015/16 - his final season with the Cards - Goddard netted 17 times, including a goal in a 2-1 defeat against Bromley, earning the club’s player of the year award.

Amidst interest from Championship and fellow League One clubs, in May 2016, Goddard signed for Swindon Town on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

After making 48 appearances in his first campaign with Town, an injury prevented him from starting the opening six weeks of the 2017/18 season, before he worked his way back to fitness and was then signed by Stevenage on a two-year deal.

After finishing the 2017/19 season with Boro, he now joins up with the Ravens on loan and goes straight into the squad ahead of tomorrow’s match with Gateshead.
