Doherty made 32 appearances for Heath last term, scoring 2 goals and providing three assists, before opting to move to then-Southern Combination League rivals Eastbourne Town in December where he was living and studying.
Doherty was regarded by many supporters as being the most consistent performer for Heath in the first half of the 2017/18 season, so for Shaun Saunders to have convinced the player to return to Hanbury is a real bonus for the club.
Doherty has previous Bostik League experience with Burgess Hill Town which will prove very beneficial next season.
After four seasons away, Mark Bevan is also returning to Heath for the upcoming campaign.
Bevan was part of the successful 2013/14 Heath side but moved on to play for Horley Town from the 2014/15 season.
The talented defender stood out in a pre-season friendly last season where he scored a fantastic goal for his side Horley at the time.
Work changes saw him move from Horley to West Sussex League side Alfold for the latter part of the season but has agreed to move back to Hanbury for the upcoming campaign.
Heath have also captured striker Dan Perry (pictured).
Perry was part
of the very successful Burgess Hill team who won the Isthmian League Division
One South in the 2014/15 season. After leaving
Burgess Hill, Perry played for Lewes and most recently Crowborough Athletic in
the Southern Counties East League where the Crows just missed out on promotion
- finishing the season in third place.
Perry has
suffered a few injuries in his short career to date and the 22-year-old will be
hoping to kick-on with Heath and reach his full potential.
