There were several teams in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League facing possible `upsets`.

Trafford eased through at Hallmark Security League Division One hosts AFC Darwen, running out 4-1 winners with Matt Bryan bagging a late brace to add to goals from Andy Langford and Mark Derbyshire after Harrison Green had equalised for Darwen.

NPL newcomers AFC Mansfield face local East Midlands Counties League neighbours Rainworth Miners Welfare, who succumbed to a 30th minute Jordan Annable effort.

Division One West side Glossop North End have a replay after Jason Hill`s 49th minute opener for the Hillmen was cancelled out by NWCL City of Liverpool`s Jack Hazelhurst 19 minutes from time.

West Midlands (Regional) League side Haughmond looked to be heading out of the competition when Division One West visitors Market Drayton Town broke the deadlock in the 88th minute through Daniel Beddows.

But Scott Ryan popped up in stoppage time to earn the minnows a second chance.

Another WMRL side to earn a second crack at a team two levels higher are Wednesfield, who held Division One West visitors Chasetown to a 2-2 draw.

Jacob Lovatt and George Cater gave the Scholars a 2-1 lead until Kevin Nickle earned Wednesfield a second go with his second goal 2 minutes from time.

Toolstation Northern Counties East League Division One side Selby Town will fancy their chances now after holding Division One West hosts Kendal Town to a 1-1 draw at Parkside.

Ben Thomas eventually levelled Carl Stewart`s 15th minute opener for Selby on 66 minutes.

Division One East side Cleethorpes Town will have home advantage now over Total Motion Midland League Premier Division outfit Loughborough University after being pegged back in stoppage time in a 3-3 thriller.

Alex Flett`s 21st minute opener led the tie for Clee until the 66th minute when Christian Eneremadu equalised.

Just 2 minutes later, Jon Oglesby restored Clee`s lead, only for the hosts to level again through Dan Hanson 2 minutes later.

Four minutes on and the visitors were 3-2 up with a second for Flett, but Joe Boachie equalised in the 91st minute.

Step 6 United Counties League Division One side Sileby Rangers held Division One East new boys Wisbech Town to a 1-1 draw at Fernie Fields.

The Fenmen led through Michael Frew`s 11th minute opener until 4 minutes into time added on at the end of the game when Nat Liburd popped up with the Northampton side`s leveller.

Radcliffe FC, who have started the season well, survived a potential banana skin at NWCL Division One side Prestwich Heys, thanks to a Ben Wharton brace in the 9th and 66th minutes.

According to reports, United Counties League Premier side Wellingborough Town were a touch unlucky to have bowed out at Division One East hosts Spalding United.

Leon Mettam`s 42nd minute opener for the Tulips was answered immediately by Adam Speight.

Beppe Freitas` 72nd minute penalty put the Doughboys in front but Gary King levelled 5 minutes from time and then Danny Brookes saw the home side through with an 85th minute penalty.

Former NPL side, now Southern League Division One Central outfit Sutton Coldfield Town, saw off Division One East side Gresley FC 3-0 at Coles Lane, thanks to Mitch Clarke, Jordan Nadat and Harvey Howell.

Amongst the all-NPL ties, Division One West side Bamber Bridge won 3-1 at Division One East hosts Stocksbridge Park Steels, thanks to a Jamie Milligan brace, while West side Hyde United eased past East visitors Sheffield FC 5-1 at Ewen Fields with Karl Jones netting a hat-trick.

Rikki Paylor bagged a brace to help Belper Town through 2-1 at Christchurch Meadow against East rivals Lincoln United, and Atherton Collieries` Ben Hardcastle`s penalty and Ben Conway outgunned West rivals` Tom McGready for Colwyn Bay.

In the all-Uhlsport Hellenic League contest, Premier Division Ardley United could not overcome Division One East Burnham.

At half-time Burnham had a 2-0 lead, courtesy of Aiden Higgs and Daniel Fosu, taking it to a three-goal lead early through Higgs again in the second period, pulled two back thanks to a Greg Hackett brace with Burnham adding a fourth in added time by Lucas Sinclair.

Ascot United exited the competition losing 3-0 at home to Sydenhams Football League (Wessex) Premier side Horndean, for whom Benny Read, Zach Glasspool and Harry Jackson were on target – the last two in the final 5 minutes.

Two second half goals from Jemel Johnson and Ian Davies provided Binfield the route into the next round with a 2-1 home win against another Wessex Premier outfit, Brockenhurst.

Bishops Cleeve cruised to the next round with a 5-2 home win against Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division side North Greenford United, with both Harrison Iddles and Elliot Kennedy bagging braces.

Seven was not a lucky number for Brimscombe & Thrupp, shipping all the goals without a reply against Bostik League South Central Division outfit Hayes & Yeading United, whose Lee Barney enjoyed himself with a personal tally of five.

In front of a crowd of just under 200, Hellenic Division One West side Easington Sports looked to be going through to the next round in the game against Western League Premier side Chipping Sodbury Town.

Leading the visitors 1-0 through a Joe Eyre effort until the 90th minute, hopes for Sports were dashed with Sodbury scoring twice in 3 minutes through Steve Fitzpatrick and Justin Bishop.

No goals were scored in the all-Hellenic League tie between Royal Wootton Bassett Town and Lydney Town fixture. Both clubs will have to go again in ten days` time.

Wantage Town's 80th minute equaliser was the least they deserved after out-playing Southern League hosts Slimbridge at Thornhill Park.

Tornado Bello gave the Swans a 36th minute lead that Jon Davoile cancelled out in the 80th minute.

Windsor go out of the cup after being dealt a `Royal Flush` by Southern League Cirencester Town at the Corinium Stadium.

Cirencester scorers were Alan Griffin, Ben Whitehead with two, Aidan Bennett and Antonio Gerrish.

South West Peninsula League side Bodmin Town live to fight another day after a late leveller gave them a 2-2 draw at home to Toolstation Western Leaguers Cadbury Heath and a Wednesday night replay in Bristol to look forward to.

The league`s FA Cup hopes rest only on Bodmin`s shoulders after Saltash United were knocked out 3-0 away at Westbury United.

Southern Counties East League Beckenham Town will head to a replay with Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Division One side Epsom & Ewell after an exciting game at Eden Park Avenue.

Jamie Humphris and Richard Atkins netted in between two Liam Roberts goals for the visitors.

Two goals from Ira Jackson ensured Bostik South East outfit Sittingbourne won their derby game against Bearsted.

The final scoreline was harsh on Bearsted, who more than matched their Bostik South East hosts but it was Jackson's quality in front of goal which proved decisive in the end.

AFC Croydon Athletic were just 7 minutes away from victory against Combined Counties League Premier Division side Hanworth Villa.

Chevan Xavier had given the Rams the lead on 55 minutes before the late penalty from the visitors means that they will do it all again soon.

Corinthian were the only SCEL side to win on the day when they were victorious at Bostik South East side Chipstead.

Jack Holland scored late for the Hoops, who will now eagerly await the next round draw.

Dan Nash scored a late equaliser to make sure Erith Town are in the hat for the next round draw.

Southern Combination Leaguers Loxwood had scored early and led all game until Nash popped up to set up a replay for the 3rd September.

A late Paul Vines goal was merely consolation in the end as Chatham Town lost 2-1 away at Bostik South East outfit Ramsgate.

Rusthall had one of the results of the day when holding Cray Wanderers to a draw at Hayes Lane.

The hosts are favourites for the Bostik South East title but Rusthall had them worried, especially when Sam Murray gave the visitors the lead on 39 minutes.

It took a second half own goal to level the game and ensure that we will be doing it all over again in early September.

Of the other Bostik League teams in action on Saturday, Premier new boys Potters Bar Town won 2-0 at Parkside against North hosts Aveley, courtesy of goals from Dernell Wynter in the very first minute and Bradley Sach 21 minutes later.

South East visitors Thamesmead Town survived a potential banana skin at Combined Counties League Premier side Balham, winning 2-0 with early goals from Harvey Brand and Richard Pacquette.

South Central side Uxbridge bowed out at Southern League Division One South outfit Beaconsfield Town`s Holloways Park, with Louis Stead and Charlie Losasso on target.

A 74th minute Alex Nolan effort proved enough in the end for South Central side Chalfont St Peter against Step 6 Spartan South Midlands Division One visitors London Lions.

A goal from prolific marksman Jason Hallett after 28 minutes saw another South Central side, Cheshunt, through at Theobalds Lane against North visitors Canvey Island.

The South East side East Grinstead Town won 1-0 at home to South Central outfit South Park, thanks to Ben Wilson just after the break, while Steve Butterworth bagged a brace to help North new boys Great Wakering Rovers through 4-1 at home to Essex Senior Leaguers Leyton.

An all-South East tie saw Hastings United edge out VCD Athletic 3-2 with a last-gasp Sam Cruttwell goal.

Their league rivals Hythe Town went through comfortably 3-0 at Reachfields against Southern Combination side Worthing United with Zak Ansah bagging a brace.

South Central side Hanwell Town won 4-2 at former Southern League Division One South rivals North Leigh with Calum and Oliver Duffy amongst the scorers.

South Central side Northwood came through unscathed against Hellenic League Longlevens, with James Ewington on target twice, while an all-South East tie saw Phoenix Sports edge out hosts Three Bridges by the odd goal in five, with Jeff Duah-Kessie`s brace proving decisive for the visitors.

United Counties League Division One Anstey Nomads are in the hat for the First Qualifying Round after a thumping 4-1 win over old East Midland Counties League rivals Clipstone at Cropston Road.

Goals from Tendai Chitiza on 14 minutes and two from Ashley Day after 18 (penalty) and 41 put the UCL new boys in charge before Clipstone reduced the arrears with a Dean Rick spot-kick.

The third penalty of the game gave Ashley Day his hat-trick after 69 minutes and the visitors weren’t helped by having both Charlie Taylor and Jason Gregory sent-off.

Oadby Town went through comfortably with a 2-0 win over Kimberley Miners Welfare at the Stag Ground with summer signing Sam Hollis scoring both. Kimberley did have a penalty saved with the score at 0-1 though.

Deeping Rangers held Southern League Premier team AFC Rushden & Diamonds to a 1-1 draw at Outgang Road, but sadly the game will be remembered for the horrific injury suffered by Deeping’s Jason Kilbride against his old club.

A 50-50 tackle saw him end up with an ankle broken in several places as well as ligament damage.

Scott Mooney held off his man in the box to fire into the top corner and give the home side the lead on 17 minutes, but Diamonds levelled after the long stoppage when Jack Bowen followed up to net on 36 minutes.

Eynesbury Rovers earned a home replay as they made the short trip to Histon and secured a 1-1 draw.

Dan Brown put The Stutes ahead after 27 minutes when he side-footed home an Ed Rolph pass but Danny Draper made sure of another chance when he drilled home from the edge of the box on the hour-mark.

Harborough Town’s big day after unveiling their new 4G pitch didn’t go to plan, but they can hold their heads up after going down 2-1 to Cambridge City.

The Southern League Division One Central visitors got their noses in front with 17 minutes to go when James Hall turned in a low Nathan Olukand cross, then skipper Ebby Nelson-Addy fired home a free-kick from just outside the box two minutes later.

Aaron Preston pulled one back on 81, following up after a Callum Steer shot had been parried, but it wasn’t enough to stop City from going through.

Desborough Town were well beaten at the Waterworks Field as former UCL champions Kempston Rovers cruised to a 3-0 away win. Shane Bush (33), Nathan Tshikuna (51) and Josh Crawley (74) on target for the Walnut Boys.

Rothwell Corinthians travelled to Southern League Central opposition in Barton Rovers and bowed out 3-2 at Sharpenhoe Road.

Victor Osobu gave Rovers the lead direct from a free-kick, but Lewis Odell levelled before the break for the visitors.

Osobu struck again after the restart and a fine solo effort from Andrew Phillips made it 3-1 before a late consolation from Adefolarin Ademidun made the score more respectable for the UCL boys.

Lutterworth Town faced a very tough trip to Toolstation Northern Counties East League side Staveley Miners Welfare and were well beaten 3-0.

Adam Baskerville and Jamal Riley had made it two before the break with Robson Doolan adding a third for the hosts.

Eleven of our clubs were in action in the Emirates FA Cup Preliminary Round, and five have booked their places in the next round, with another two facing replays.

Two Hallmark Security League clubs progressed by knocking out Evo-Stik Northern Premier League opponents, and in the case of Irlam, they achieved their 2-1 win on the road at Prescot Cables, thanks to two goals from Matty Boland.

Ashton Athletic’s impressive recent record in cup competitions continued with a 2-1 win over Skelmersdale United at Brocstedes Park as reported in part one.

In the all-Premier Division clash at Victoria Park, Burscough followed up their midweek league win over Northwich Victoria with a 2-0 win in the FA Cup.  Matthew Ward and Terry Cummings, who both scored in midweek, were the Linnets’ scorers.

Two NWCL clubs progressed with wins at Northern Counties East League opponents, a 50th minute goal from Emini Adegbenro earning Congleton Town a 1-0 victory at Handsworth Parramore, and John Shaw, Ryan Cox and Shaun Weaver were on target for Runcorn Town in the 3-1 win at Penistone Church.

For four clubs it was the end of the road, although in the case of Prestwich Heys, it was a day in which they enjoyed nationwide exposure with their 2-0 home defeat to Radcliffe being shown live on the BBC's digital platforms.

Whitchurch Alport’s hopes of progress were ended by conceding a late goal at Walsall Wood to lose 2-1, Zack Dale’s goal for Barnoldswick Town was the only highlight in a 6-1 defeat at Whitley Bay, and AFC Darwen lost 4-1 at home to Trafford.

Ebac Northern League First Division club Shildon’s hopes of a good run were dashed when they were beaten 4-1 at NPL Division One East Tadcaster Albion.

Shildon were hoping to pull off a shock and have a good run in the competition like they did last season, but they were always up against it once Joe Lumsden gave Taddy an early lead.

Lumsden made it 2-0 just before half time after he played a 1-2, but Shildon player-manager Danny Moore gave his side hope with a header from Keith Graydon’s free kick.

But Billy Whitehouse and Casey Stewart added further goals and knocked Shildon out.

Shildon manager Danny Moore said; “We conceded goals at the wrong times. We were in it at 2-1 and went for it but the best team won on the day and wish them all the best.”

Shildon are in action this morning in the league (kick off 11am) against Newton Aycliffe at Dean Street.

West Auckland Town went out, beaten 1-0 at league rivals Newcastle Benfield.

Benfield keeper Andrew Grainger made two good saves in the first half, but it was team-mate Dale Pearson who won the game for Benfield with a left foot volley from 12 yards out after 58 minutes.

West Auckland manager Gary Forrest said; "We're frustrated. We dominated the ball without creating enough. I told the players at half time that Benfield's only chance to score would be from a setpiece, so not to give away silly free kicks. Their goal came from exactly that."

Whitley Bay also scored six against NWCL Barnoldswick Town to put them into the next round.

Dunston UTS beat Pontefract Collieries from the NPL Division One East by 4-2, while Guisborough Town will replay on Wednesday after a late goal gave them a 2-2 draw at Albion Sports.

Blyth AFC lost heavily at NCEL Knaresborough Town, which might hasten a decision on whether they fold or not.

They have revealed that they are unsustainable and might not have much longer to exist.

They are due to play at home - which is their groundshare at Portland Park - to Whitley Bay in midweek.

Essex Senior League Walthamstow are in Monday’s draw after a battling away win at Thurlow Nunn Leaguers Felixstowe & Walton United.

James Peagram scored the all-important goal that won it for the ESL side in the 17th minute.

Saffron Walden Town are also in the hat after they came through their all-ESL Preliminary match-up with Hoddesdon Town.

Craig Calver, Greg Strong, Ryan Fleming and the always seems to be scoring of late Charlie Portway scored a goal each for the Bloods; Alex Warman provided the Hoddesdon goal in a game watched by a crowd of 293 people.

Sporting Bengal United will at least know who they could meet in the next round by the time Wednesday’s replay at Mile End Stadium comes around.

A wonderful goal from Steven Carvell in the 20th minute gave the Bengal Tigers a deserved lead, and they had plenty of chances to extend that lead throughout the rest of the game.

That inability to get a second goal came to hurt the East London outfit as Harry Doyle was able to swivel and fire home an equaliser in the 65th minute.

Sporting Bengal can take credit for the way they dominated much of the play against their Bostik North rivals but must also be rueing not taking all their chances; still they have a second attempt in midweek with their Cup dream still alive.

West Essex travelled up to Heybridge Swifts but were gunned down by Jody Brown’s Bostik North fancies inside the opening 45 minutes.

Matt Price opened the Swifts account in the 8th minute; Sam Bantick then doubled that lead in the 17th minute; which was then further extended when Price added another goal to his tally via a penalty.

Stanway Rovers also gave a good account of themselves as they bowed out to Haringey Borough, recent ESL champions but now mixing it in the Premier Division of the Bostik League.

Stanway finally succumbed to a Chinedu McKenzie goal in the 69th minute.

Hullbridge Sports were knocked out in even more heart breaking fashion as Dan Okah fired them into a 40th minute lead that they held onto until the 82nd.

Shaun Avis having brought the tie level then inflicted even more hurt on Hullbridge as he scored Thurlow Nunn Leaguers Newmarket Town’s winner deep into stoppage time.

And St Margaretsbury’s run is also over for another year after they were beaten 3-1 by another Thurlow Nunn League side in Long Melford.

The hosts scored their goals via Anthony Waugh, Hassan Ally and Steve Adams. Tom Cowell notched the St Margaretsbury consolation in the closing stages of the game.
