The Daniels made their first visit to promoted and previously unbeaten Pontefract Collieries and, despite falling behind to a 39^th minute Michael Dunn goal, won with goals from Rob Morgan on 51 minutes and Bradley Fortnam-Tomlinson with 10 minutes to go.

At Cleethorpes Town, a crowd of 442 saw Josh Batty give the home side the lead and Frickley battled back to win it with goals in the final 9 minutes from Jacob Hazel and Gavin Allott.

Cleethorpes are one of five teams still looking for an opening win in 2018/19.
