The former Shakers captain made almost 160 appearances for the EFL side over six years. He has also amassed vast Welsh Premier experience at The New Saints, Rhyl, Aberystwyth Town and Airbus UK Broughton.

Speaking to the club`s website, Jones said: "I'm really pleased to be signing for the Nomads and looking forward to playing back in the Welsh Premier. I chose to join Connah's Quay because the manager showed a keen interest to sign me. The club is also local to my family, friends and I believe we can make a challenge for the title."

Meanwhile, defender Noah Edwards has joined Caernarfon Town.

Edwards joined Quay in the summer from Prestatyn Town and was part of their Europa League squad before moving west.

Commenting on the move, Edwards told the club`s website: “I’ve always enjoyed playing against Caernarfon, it’s a big team and they always have big crowds. They’ve got a lot of fans and it’s one of the reasons I’ve joined. It’s going to be great for me to get going and play football again so I’m looking forward to it”.
