Hughes signed for the Hawks in November 2015 and has been virtually an ever-present between the sticks since.

He was a key part of the squad that achieved promotion back to the Isthmian Premier Division in 2016, and then he was awarded the supporters' player of the year award at the end of the following season.

He has found his time in the starting line-up limited this term, and he has made the difficult decision to take on a new challenge elsewhere.

In total, he made 118 appearances for Harlow, keeping 28 clean sheets in the process.

Upon announcing his departure, Hughes told the club`s website: "It's been a privilege to represent Harlow for the past two and a half seasons where I've enjoyed every minute playing for the club. Achieving promotion, winning player of the year, and being part of the team to break the record of twelve straight wins have got to be the personal highlights.

"It's been an honour to be between the sticks at Harlow. I've always given my best and tried to lead by example. I've been very fortunate to play alongside some very talented players who have helped me develop and I hope I have had some sort of effect on them too. To the current group of players, I wish you all the best, I think you can go on to achieve some great things.

"I would especially like to thank the fans of Harlow, you are the real backbone of the club. The encouragement and loyalty shown by you all is something I will always cherish. Your support is a big part of what makes Harlow an attractive place for players to come and play football at. The impact you have on players is huge more than what you probably think so keep up the support!

"However, for now the time has come for me to take up a new challenge. So hopefully this isn't goodbye but a see you soon. Thanks for all the love and support given to me and my family, I look forward to the future encounters!"
