The Magpies were held to a 2-2 draw at Buildbase FA Trophy winners Brackley Town, but they, along with AFC Telford United and Kidderminster Harriers, all remain unbeaten. Chorley produced a stunning comeback to halt Brackley in their tracks. The home dominated the first half and went into the break two goals to the good, thanks to Connor Franklin after 35 minutes and Lee Ndlovu 6 minutes later. However, a change of shape in the second half led to Josh O'Keefe scoring twice from close range on 66 and 83 minutes to gain a point for the league leaders. Telford were also behind at the New Bucks Head to Ashton United, whose John McAtee was on target 7 minutes before the break. But Dominic Udoh equalised on 64 minutes and scored again to win it for the Bucks 5 minutes from time. Harriers led at the Jakemans Stadium against Boston United with goals from Ed Williams after 14 minutes and Ashley Chambers on 22 minutes. While the visitors did have further chances to add to their lead after the break, it was a splendid defensive display in the second 45 that ultimately sealed the win as United were kept at bay, frustration boiling over as the Pilgrims ended the game with ten-men with the 76th minute dismissal of Jordan Gough. Nuneaton Borough are finally off the mark. They won 1-0 at the Tameside Stadium, thanks to an early 8th minute goal from Port Vale loanee Dior Angus. Southport remain second-bottom after sharing a 1-1 home draw with Spennymoor Town. It was so nearly a second win for Port though as they led through Ryan Astles` 17th minute opener right until a last-minute header from Glen Taylor rescued a point for Moors. Chester FC also shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at Nethermoor against the team who came down from the National League with them, Guiseley AFC. Chester rescued a dramatic point in the final minute of stoppage time. Guiseley appeared to have secured three points when Scott Garner headed them ahead with 2 minutes of normal time remaining but Jon Moran’s 93rd minute equaliser ensures the Blues took a point from the game. A crowd of 2,680 saw Stockport County win 3-1 at Edgeley Park against Leamington. Nyal Bell gave County a 27th minute lead that James Mace cancelled out 12 minutes later. But right on the stroke of half-time, Mace was shown a straight red card for bringing down Bell. The ten-men held out until the hour-mark when Connor Dimaio restored Stockport`s lead and then Darren Stephenson made sure with a third on 65 minutes. A crowd of 2,558 at Edgar Street saw promoted Hereford FC come back to draw against York City. The Minstermen led through Macauley Langstaff`s 25th minute opener, but Mike McGrath earned the Bulls a point in the 65th minute. Sean Reid put Blyth Spartans in front at Croft Park against another promoted side, Altrincham, whose Josh Hancock equalised almost straight from the restart. But a goal from Jarratt Rivers 7 minutes from time clinched the points for Spartans. A fourth league win in a row – and a third in succession away – for Alfreton Town at Blackwell Meadows against Darlington.
They eventually held on to Bobby Johnson`s early 2nd minute goal to win, despite having David Shiels dismissed for two bookings 11 minutes from time. |
