First Defeats for Weymouth & Hartley Wintney
Saturday saw first defeats in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division South for Weymouth and Hartley Wintney.

The Terras were edged out by the odd goal in seven at the Rushmoor Community Stadium by Farnborough

 

Ben Thomson gave the visitors a 6th minute lead that Abdulai Baggie doubled 8 minutes later.

 

Connor Calcutt pulled one back for Boro on the half-hour mark, only for Stephane Zubar to make it 3-1 with 8 minutes of the first half remaining.

 

But Boro produced a terrific second half comeback with goals from Luke Robertson after 69 and 79 minutes and a second for Calcutt 4 minutes later.

 

Hartley Wintney fell 2-1 at Weymouth`s Dorset neighbours Dorchester Town, whose Harry Kite after 27 minutes and Ashley Pope a minute before half-time, cancelled out Claudio Herbert`s early 2nd minute opener for the visitors.

 

Tiverton Town are now joint top of the early table after recording a 2-0 win at Holloways Park against Beaconsfield Town.

 

Tom Bath after 28 minutes and Levi Landricombe after 78 minutes being the Yellows` on target.

 

Chesham United finally achieved their first point of the season in a 1-1 draw at the Meadow against promoted Wimborne Town.

 

Sam Davidson`s 54th minute opener for the visiting Magpies was levelled by Ben Crilley on the hour-mark.

 

Walton Casuals are also finding it tough since being promoted and moved across from the Bostik League.

 

They lost 3-1 at home to Merthyr Town, whose Adam Davies` 6th minute opener was cancelled out by Isaac Sarpong on the hour-mark, only for Tom Meechan on 73 minutes and Ian Traylor in stoppage time to win it for the Martyrs.

 

Staines Town won 2-0 at relegated Poole Town with goals on 63 minutes from Andre Odetola and in the first minute of stoppage time from Andy Ali.

 

Taunton Town and Basingstoke Town shared a 0-0 draw at the Viridor Stadium, while Gosport Borough made it three successive wins in style, hammering switched Metropolitan Police 6-3 at Privett Park.

 

Ryan Pennery hit a hat-trick for Boro, Patrick Suraci a brace and one for Matty Tubbs, while John Gilbert scored two for the Met, sandwiched by a Max Blackmore effort.

 

It`s back-to-back wins for Frome Town after a 1-0 home win over Kings Langley, thanks to a goal 5 minutes from time from Rick Davis.

 

Hendon made it three wins from six with a Gianni Crichlow goal after just 7 minutes at the WebbsWood against Swindon Supermarine.

 

Jacob Wannell looked to have earned Salisbury a win at Earlsmead against Harrow Borough as his 77th minute effort led going into stoppage time when Ryan Haugh pulled Boro level.
