Sener Suavi helped himself to five of the goals; Keith King grabbed a hat-trick, with the other goal being supplied by Alfie Phillips.

Dave Watson and Sean Chimba scored the Rochford consolations. There was another hungry forward on show in the Shenfield AFC versus Upminster tie.

Unfortunately for Upminster, Ronnie Hobbrough led the Shenfield charge, bagged five of the goals with Ben Carroll and Ben Absolon scoring apiece in the 7-1 success.

Plenty of goals too in the Laindon Orient versus Lakeside showdown – nine of them in fact with the home side notching six of them.

Glen Jordan opened Laindon’s account in the 5th minute and added a second just before the half hour-mark.

Henry Ballard went on to score a brace in the second half with Ashley Blackburn and Adam Cole also getting their names on the scoresheet.

Drew Klessa-Smith actually scored a hat-trick for Lakeside, but in the end in proved to have been in vain.

A Jack Darby-Clarke brace plus goals from Darren Burrell and Bradley Read saw Corinthians beat Wakering Sports 5-2, with Ryan Curtis and Danny Pallett the Wakering scorers; FC Hamlets also scored five against Beacon Hill Rovers, whilst also keeping a clean sheet at the other end.

Epping Town did likewise on their visit to Old Barkabbeyans, with Daniel Ezeorji (2), Tim Curtis, Liam Clifton and Chris Lockwood the marksmen.

Snaresbrook beat Ramsden Scotia 4-1 courtesy of goals from Drew Barbier, Yasin Hammad, George Bacon and Ryan Barker-Francis.

Leigh Town secured a relatively easy passage into the next round after they overcome White Ensign Res. 4-0. Jed Ofori meanwhile fired Newbury Forest Res. into the next round as his double saw his side record a 2-1 win at Dagenham United, with Ashley Retter their scorer.

Tom Howe, Jordan Gregory and John Smithwick were the Runwell Sports scorers in a 3-1 win over May & Baker E.C. Res.

The hosts scored their goal through Emmanuel Boateng. Newham United knocked Ryan out with a 2-0; Lamar Obinkwo and Richard Boah scored a goal apiece.

Premier Division

Buckhurst Hill maintained their winning start to the new season; last season’s Division One Champions made it three wins from three as Josh Addinall, Sonny Shilling, Josh Banfield, Joe Re and Suley Zuhdu hit the target against Sungate to record a 5-1 win.

Jermaine Purchase scored the Sungate consolation.

That win sees Buckhurst Hill top the table on goal difference as Harold Wood Athletic’s 3-0 win over Catholic United also sees them on nine points from four. Charlie Liddiard scored a brace with Scott Williams the other Harold Wood scorer.

Rayleigh Town beat Hutton 2-0, while Old Southendian gifted Bishop’s Stortford Swifts an own goal, which Danny Morgan added to give Swifts a 2-1 away win.

Nick Henesy scored the Old Southendian goal and they now sit in the drop zone pointless from their opening three games.

Springfield picked up their first win of the season as Ross Lamb and David Wareham scored the goals that saw them defeat Manford Way 2-1.

And Kelvedon Hatch collected all the points on offer against Canning Town as Mike Daniels, Steve Willis and Dan Gillard all scored in the 3-1 win. Tom Quinn notched the Canning Town goal.

Division One

Rayleigh Town Res. picked up a point at Frenford Res as their game ended in a 1-1 draw. That is enough to keep Rayleigh top for now as some of the teams haven’t played any games yet.

Galleywood opened their league programme with a flourish – a 4-0 away win at Herongate Athletic with Thomas Watling laying down a hat-trick. Sam Donn scored the other goal and that sees Galleywood sitting second in the table.

Division Two

Shoebury Town started their season in emphatic style as they swept aside May & Baker E.C. ‘A’ with a 15-0 win that takes them to the top of the table.

Dominic Binns scored eight of the goals; Shaun Illet and Kirk Hudson scored braces; with Lee Turner, Simon Pearce and Daniel Regan scoring one apiece in the rout.

Toby also secured all the three points as they beat Chingford Athletic 1-0 but left it very late as Ben Turner’s headed goal didn’t arrive until the very last minute.

Division Three

Old Southendian Res. opened their season on a winning note. El Hemmings scored twice with Oli Tatton-Bennett also scoring in the 3-1 win at Hutton Res.

Carl Dutton scored Hutton’s reply. Chris Rowland scored the Corinthians goal in a 1-1 draw with Westhamians.
