The 6’4” midfielder signed for the Wire from Vanarama National League North new boys Ashton United, having only joined the Robins in July.

Dixon played for Stockport County during the 2017/18 campaign.

He started his career at Kingsley United and spent spells at other clubs before eventually being spotted by Football League side Accrington Stanley.

He made 10 League appearances for the Lancashire-based side before moving back down to non-League football this time with a permanent move to Lincoln City in 2013.

Since then he has played for numerous clubs including Stalybridge Celtic, Northwich Victoria, Salford City and AFC Fylde.

He won league titles with the latter two clubs and was a virtual ever-present in Fylde’s romp to the National League North title in 2016/17.
