Goalkeeper James Coates has left the Lilywhites.
The experienced 33-year-old numbers Kidsgrove Athletic, Northwich Victoria, Rhyl, Guiseley AFC and Alrincham amongst his other former clubs.
The first of three new signings to announce is the arrival of Sam Heathcote from NPL Premier Division outfit Hyde United.
Heathcote, a young centre-back, who has also played at Altrincham and Ramsbottom United, is the son of Alty legend Graham Heathcote.
Secondly, goalkeeper Matt Cooper has joined from league rivals Colwyn Bay.
Cooper joined Bay from Glossop North End, having played for the Derbyshire club at Wembley in the 2009/10 FA Vase final against Whitley Bay.
He then had three seasons at Witton Albion prior to a short spell with Marine AFC, before returning to Glossop last season.
Last but certainly not least, the third signing is Danny Wilkins, a centre-forward, who joins from another league rival, Colne.
Wilkins signed for Colne a year or so back from Stalybridge Celtic after enjoying a spell at Ashton United.
He started his career at Blackburn Rovers where he spent eight years in the academy before leaving Ewood Park.
His non-League goals saw him chased by many clubs as he enjoyed spells at Bamber Bridge, Clitheroe, Padiham, Kendal Town and Ramsbottom United,
Trafford manager Tom Baker told http://www.traffordfc.co.uk: “I am really happy to bring all three of these lads in & they will be important additions to what is already a strong squad. Competition for places is a must if we’re going to continue to progress and move forward. Not only are they good players, they are also good characters & the kind of people who are important to us as a club!”
Meanwhile, Anthony Brown has left the club by mutual consent – the former Witton Albion and Burscough centre-half having joined in the summer.
Baker added: “After a long chat with Anthony, both he and I agreed that it was best he moved on from the club.
“Anthony currently has a lot of commitments outside of football that has made it difficult for him from a travel point of view. I have no regrets in signing him in the first place and I think he would echo that. He is a top lad and a great player but unfortunately, sometimes things just don’t work out - it’s just the way it is. I’m sure everyone will join me in wishing him all the best in the future and he goes with my utmost respect”. |
