....Central club Hitchin Town, has decided to leave Top Field.

Dogged by injury last season, Kirkpatrick has not hit the heights of previous seasons over the past twelve months and has seen his appearances limited since returning from a long-term injury sustained at the end of last season.

Manager Mark Burke told https://hitchintownfc.club: “Lucas has been a great servant to the club having made his debut as young teenager and he has been with me since the beginning of my journey into management. I have enjoyed working with him and hopefully I have helped him develop as both a player and a man. However, his playing time has been limited due to injury and lack of form and unfortunately, he was not prepared to stay and try to fight for his place but rather look for a new challenge and kick-start his career.

“I would like to wish him the best of luck for the future and no doubt our paths will cross once again.”

Kirkpatrick has subsequently moved to league rivals Biggleswade Town.
