Marshall began his career with Blackburn Rovers where he spent his youth career and would go on to earn a pro deal with the then-Premier League Rovers side in 2008 with Sam Allardyce handing him his first-team debut in the Carling Cup.
However, that game would be Marshall’s only outing for the first-team and he spent the rest of the campaign in the reserves.
Marshall had a loan spell with Rotherham United in 2010 before joining the Millers permanently, making fifty-one appearances and scoring 4 goals during a two-year spell, which included a loan stint with Macclesfield Town.
In 2012, Marshall left Rotherham and linked up with Bury for a season, which included two loan spells with Grimsby Town after the Shakers recalled the winger due to a bid from Luton Town which Marshall turned down to return to the Mariners.
Following the conclusion of his spell with Bury, Marshall joined Morecambe in 2013 on a two-year deal but had a difficult first season with the Shrimpers and would make a season-long loan move to Lincoln City for the 2014/15 campaign.
For the 2015/16 season, Marshall signed a one-year deal with Grimsby, leaving once his contract expired to join Boston United, also on a one-year deal that included a loan spell with Coalville Town.
In 2017, Marshall linked up with Alfreton playing for the Reds a total of eight times and spending a loan spell with Hyde United that saw a return of 2 goals in four games. |
